Cribl Edge

Cribl provides a suite of data management products designed to collect, process, route, and analyze IT and security telemetry data. The company's product portfolio includes Cribl Stream for centralized, petabyte-scale data processing with horizontal and vertical scaling capabilities; Cribl Edge for agent-based data collection including OpenTelemetry signals, system metrics, and system state; Cribl Search for data analysis; and Cribl Lake for data storage.

The platform supports multiple data formats including OpenTelemetry signals (logs, metrics, and traces), Prometheus metrics, and various other telemetry sources. The platform can convert between different telemetry formats, such as translating Prometheus metrics into OTLP format, and supports delivery to various destinations including Kafka message buses with Protobuf serialization.

Cribl's architecture supports both edge deployment through Cribl Edge agents and centralized processing through Stream Worker Groups, which consist of multiple Worker Nodes that share managed configurations. The platform is designed to be vendor-agnostic, allowing organizations to work with various cloud providers, hardware platforms, and applications without vendor lock-in.
